my hipster friends in manila--i mean my very good friends who does films with me. raya, my director, armi my assistant director and digo my production designer. we are hanging out in cubao, just like old times.

im back in manila!
i went to the cinemalaya film festival in UP to see the work in progress premiere of Adolfo's Muli.
my favorite actor Sid Lucero is the main lead. he was also my actor in several films that i produced, tambolista and independencia. for me, he is the best filipino actor of this generation. we had a good time in cannes last year. cant wait to go back.

Well Holland didnt win against Spain...but what a party!
Holland is one orange country! Here are some scenes last sunday.

splesj!

i was craving for a big waterpark (with slides and big pools) since summer here in holland is getting hotter, so i searched in the internet and found one near our area --(its in bosbad hoeven, between breda and rosendaal, around 1.5hours by bike! yes, we rode our bikes to go there) and its called Splesj! (Splash!) It was lots of fun, lots of people, some slides, a lake for boating, playground for children, picnic area, a small train and a mini golf area. its fun for kids and for us!

Football Fever!

Football fever is everywhere here in holland! A lot of the houses here have decorations, celebrating their support for the Dutch team in the World Cup. And work literally stops here when there is a game. Especially exciting is that Holland might be in the finals. That would be a celebration indeed!

I think it will be Holland versus Germany in the finals (or maybe Spain)...We'll see.

and Holland wins over Brazil! and Breda kids celebrate by jumping into the canals! It was aslo a very hot summer day, almost 35C! hup holland hup!

Work stops for football in this country.

Everything closes down when there is a Netherlands World Cup Football match here.
This is the sign outside of our library today, Friday, just before the football match at 4pm against Brazil.

If you look closer it says:
"We support Oranje. Library closed at 3:30pm."

Now the school is empty at 4pm, and everyone is in the pubs or at home watching the game, except for us (well maybe we'll also leave in a few minutes..)
